Quiet end to the Atlantic basin hurricane season
Updated: November 28, 2021 11:00 PM EST
The 2021 Atlantic basin hurricane season will come to a close on Tuesday with no late-season tropical development expected. The current weather pattern across the basin is too hostile for tropical development, mostly due to a large area of strong vertical wind shear covering most of the basin.
This shear pattern will continue to plague most of the basin into early December. As a result, we see no support for post-season tropical development across the Atlantic tropical basin through at least the first week of December.
